About me
Hi there I’m Fay Dwyer
I'm a yoga therapist. I am passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga therapy. I am excited to offer online Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy sessions. This body-based approach is both powerful and transformational.
How my journey began
My yoga journey started when I moved from London to Tokyo. I was in my 20s and six months pregnant with my first child. I was encouraged to try prenatal yoga. I was far from home, without family and friends, and in the middle of a huge life transition. I needed more than an exercise class. I needed a way to feel settled in this new country. With my first yoga class, I experienced first-hand the power of yoga. The group kindly accepted me in; I felt a real connection.
Yoga had me completely hooked.
I kept up the yoga classes after my daughter was born. I even returned to the same prenatal class when carrying my son. Then we left Japan and moved around the world a bit. United States, Singapore, Thailand, and the UK. Finding a yoga class in each new location became my thing. I have been so fortunate to experience many different styles of yoga in many languages.
Wishing to enrich my home practice, I decided to do a 200-hour teacher training. I completed this with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in the USA. The therapeutic modality meshed well with my belief that yoga should be inclusive and accessible. I got the chance to try a yoga therapy session when I was in Bristol, VT training. The experience was that of gaining total clarity. Who I am, what drives me, and what holds me back. The experience was enough for me to want to dive deeply into the 600-hour yoga therapist training.
I always like to remember my experience in that first yoga class in Tokyo. Feeling I was connected. Like I was home. I always hope to replicate that feeling for clients when they experience a yoga therapy session with me.

“
The session helped me revisit deep breathing, which I felt I needed to concentrate on. I enjoyed the session, appreciating the instruction and being able to speak freely and honestly about my feelings in different positions. The props and hands-on assistance was super.

My upper body feels very opened up. I feel like my whole body is more comfortable and has let go of the stress of the week and slowed down to a pace that feels better
